OUR EDUCATION LEADERS

Dr Rebecca Tucker

Qualifications: BVSc (Hons) MANZCVS DAVDC

Biography:

Rebecca (Bec) graduated from University of Sydney in 2007 with honours.

Initially, dentistry wasn’t on Bec’s radar until she engaged with vets who were passionate about dentistry, and attended continuing education lectures and workshops. In 2012, she became a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (MANZCVS) in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery. She has been president of the chapter from 2017 – 2018. Bec is a membership examiner and has served as convenor for the chapter at ANZCVS Science Week.

In 2018, Bec completed her residency through the American Veterinary Dental College mentored by Drs Loic Legendre and Gary Wilson. In June 2023, despite challenges posed by the pandemic, Bec achieved Diplomate status with the American Veterinary Dental College – one of only six veterinarians in Australia. Bec is a Director of Advanced Animal Dentistry (est. 2006), one of the largest dental referral practices in Queensland. She appreciates all aspects of dentistry and oral surgery, finding special fulfilment in oral surgery, especially reconstructive procedures.

When she’s away from dentistry, Bec enjoys her family and her two adorable whippets Maple and Hazel, whose coat collections are far too large for any dogs living in Queensland!
