Is This Workshop For You?
If you’re a qualified vet and would like to perform gastrointestinal and airway endoscopy in small animals confidently, this hands-on workshop is designed to help you build practical, real-world skills in a supportive clinical learning environment. Whether you’re completely new to endoscopy, already assisting with procedures in practice, or looking to improve your confidence and procedural flow, this workshop focuses on helping you develop techniques you can realistically apply back in clinic.
The VetPrac approach is practical at heart. With extensive time on the scopes, small group teaching and guidance from experienced specialists and educators, you’ll have the opportunity to observe, ask questions and personally refine your skills with real procedural experience. Ultimately, that’s what matters when you return to practice and start integrating endoscopy into your own diagnostic toolkit.
You’ll build confidence in:
- Scope handling & calibration
- Machine setup & image manipulation
- Navigating the oesophagus, stomach & duodenum
- Performing GI endoscopy procedures
- Collecting diagnostic biopsies
- Foreign body retrieval techniques
- PEG tube placement
- Bronchoscopy & bronchoalveolar lavage
- Improving procedural efficiency & image quality
- Integrating endoscopy into everyday clinical practice
This workshop is designed to help make endoscopy feel approachable, practical and achievable in the real-world veterinary setting. No matter your starting point, the goal is the same: to help you leave with stronger procedural skills, greater confidence and a clearer understanding of how endoscopy can become part of your clinical practice.
Why This Workshop is Different
Hands-on First Approach
Endoscopy is a skill best learned by doing. This workshop gives you plenty of time on the scopes with guided, step-by-step training so you build real confidence, not just theoretical understanding.
Real Clinical Procedures
Work through genuine GI and airway cases, including foreign body retrieval, biopsies, bronchoscopy, colonoscopy and PEG tube placement. You’ll learn exactly how these procedures translate into everyday clinical practice.
Specialist Guided Learning
Learn directly from experienced veterinary specialists who provide real-time coaching, practical tips and procedural troubleshooting to help you refine technique and build efficient, repeatable habits.
High-Quality Endoscopy Equipment
Train using modern video endoscopy systems with high-resolution imaging. Experience equipment designed for clarity, ease of use and diagnostic accuracy in a realistic clinical training environment.
Immediate Clinical Application
Every skill is taught with real-world application in mind. You’ll leave with practical workflows, improved confidence and the ability to start integrating endoscopy into your own clinical caseload immediately.
This Workshop Helps You With:
Upper GI Foreign Body Cases
Manage common and challenging oesophageal, gastric foreign bodies, including bones, forbidden snacks and chew toys. You’ll learn practical retrieval techniques that help reduce surgical intervention, shorten anaesthetic times and improve patient recovery in emergency and general practice settings.
Diagnostic Workups in GI Disease
Build confidence in investigating cases of vomiting, regurgitation and weight loss through targeted GI endoscopy. Learn how to collect high-quality biopsies from the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum to support accurate diagnosis and improve treatment planning in complex internal medicine cases.
Airway Disease Investigation
Gain practical skills in bronchoscopy and bronchoalveolar lavage to support the diagnosis of coughing, respiratory distress and chronic airway disease. This includes safe scope navigation, sample collection techniques, and an understanding of how endoscopy integrates into broader respiratory workups in clinical practice.

Addressing Common Questions
"I don’t have time to take off work. Why should I attend?"
Stronger endoscopy skills can quickly translate into faster diagnostics, less invasive treatment options and improved patient outcomes in everyday clinical practice. You’ll gain practical techniques that help make GI and airway procedures more efficient, predictable and clinically rewarding.
With extensive hands-on training and direct specialist guidance, this workshop is designed to help you confidently apply your new skills back in clinic straight away, making it a valuable CPD investment for vets wanting to expand their diagnostic capabilities and procedural confidence.
"Can I split the payment between myself and my workplace?"
Yes. If you have a CE budget available through your clinic or workplace, we’re happy to arrange split invoicing to help make registration easier.
Many participants choose to divide the workshop cost between their employer contribution and personal payment. Simply contact the VetPrac team ([email protected]) prior to registration and we can help organise the invoicing arrangement for you.
"Will I actually be able to apply these skills?"
100%. This workshop is focused on practical, real-world endoscopy, not just theory.
You’ll spend extensive time performing GI and airway endoscopy procedures yourself, with direct guidance and feedback from experienced specialists and educators throughout the workshop.
Everything is designed for immediate clinical application, so you can return to practice with greater confidence, managing cases involving foreign body retrievals, diagnostic biopsies, bronchoscopy and other everyday endoscopy procedures.
"Will I receive CPD points, a certificate, and learning materials?"
Yes. Every participant in the Small Animal GI & Respiratory Endoscopy Workshop will earn CPD points and receive a personalised CPD certificate, emailed within seven days of the workshop. You’ll also receive comprehensive learning materials, including digital course notes and a printed practical guide, so you can continue revisiting key techniques and tips long after the workshop.
"What happens if I need to cancel or the workshop is cancelled?"
If you need to transfer or change your registration to another workshop, a $50 administrative fee applies. Cancellations made within 45 days of the workshop start date will incur a fee equal to 50% of the course investment, and cancellations within 7 days of commencement are non-refundable.
