Is This Workshop For You?
This course is a fantastic destination for all vets who perform small animal dentistry – especially those who’ve had less access to practical dental training, mentorship, and personal feedback.
Whether you scored just a few sessions of actual, hands-on dental training at university or as a new grad, or you’re already moderately immersed, this workshop will show you how to get along with more complex dental extractions in everyday practice. And make Every. Single. Dental. Easier (even the so-called ‘easy’ ones).
Over 11.5 hours of supervised hands-on practice with personalised feedback, you’ll extract maxillary canines and carnassials; see how the experts hold and manipulate dental instruments to get the best results…and revise why it’s so important to sing nursery rhymes under your breath while you apply consistent pressure against the periodontal ligament.
With our exciting new dual-stream vet + nurse/tech format, you get two days of training for two clinical professionals. Your veterinarian brings a plus-one, at no extra cost.
Vets sink your teeth into:
- Oral tissue handling
- Planning & lifting flaps
- Maxillary canine extractions
- Maxillary carnassial extractions
- Feline quadrant extractions
- Feline specific tissue handling
- Fractured tooth root retrieval
- Achieving the best possible closure
- Those (sometimes dreaded) owner conversations
Nurses/Techs sink your teeth into:
- Understanding periodontal disease
- Taking dental radiographs
- Charting the tooth exam
- Scale & polish
- Home care conversations
- Instrument care
- Anaesthesia of the toothy kind
There are two types of vets: those who embrace dentals, and those who bravely (or loudly) struggle through them. If you’re more likely to avoid than to volunteer, this workshop just might be life-changing.
Why This Workshop is Different
Cornerstone Topics
Techniques selected because they hold the key to treating the majority of dental cases you see in GP practice. Improved surgical offerings and better patient welfare await.
Hands-on Dental Surgery
Vets, nurses & techs will all spend over 11.5 hours in surgical wet lab sessions. More time operating, more confidence when you return to practice.
Tried-and-Trusted Educators
Learn from highly experienced veterinary dentists who love to teach. Receive personalised tuition and feedback helping you perform safer, more time-efficient, and more precise dental procedures.
Two Streams, One Team
Registration covers a nurse or tech, too. Your dental wingmate joins a dedicated parallel stream covering the skills and knowledge to support you and your patient before, during and after their procedure.
Train in Good Company
Learn alongside colleagues in a supportive, sociable setting. Training like this gets you home more inspired as well as more capable come Monday morning.
This Workshop Helps You With:
Upskill Where it Counts
Using your own wet lab specimen you’ll spend time making meaningful, supervised progress with your technique, focusing on the dental surgeries you’re already doing and those that are within your reach. Plan, perform and adapt, discovering strategies that make challenging cases more predictable – even enjoyable!
The Fine Art of Removing Teeth!
Concentrate on the tooth removal scenarios that crop up again and again, perhaps including some procedures you’d love to be able to offer, but haven’t yet attempted. From canines and carnassials to feline quadrant extractions and fractured root removals – planning, tissue and instrument handling and decision-making lie at the heart of surgical success.
Double the Learning, Not the Invoice
One registration brings both sides of the dental table, and this isn’t just a vet workshop with a spare seat. Your nurse or tech spends time focused on supporting smoother prep, safer anaesthesia, cleaner workflow and better patient care.

Many vets find this translates into increased confidence and more proactive treatment recommendations in practice. With a complimentary nurse or tech place included, your whole dental team returns more aligned and ready to implement what they’ve learned.

Absolutely. Stronger dental skills quickly translate into better efficiency, smoother procedures, and improved patient outcomes. You’ll gain practical techniques that make everyday dentals easier and more predictable.
With a vet and nurse/tech training together, your whole team benefits, making this one of the most valuable CPD investments for improving day-to-day dentistry in practice.
"Will I actually be able to apply these skills?"
100%. This workshop is focused on practical, real-world dentistry, not just theory.
You’ll spend extensive time in wet lab sessions performing procedures yourself, with direct guidance and feedback from experienced dental surgeons.
