Biography:

Alex graduated on the Deans honours List in 2010 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from Melbourne University. She worked in mixed practice for 8 months and then moved into small animal practice in the northern suburbs for a further 5 months. Alex started working at Southpaws in early 2012 and successfully completed her internship and residency programs. Alex achieved her Memberships in Small Animal Surgery through the Australian New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (MANZVSA SAS) in 2014 during her residency program.

Recently Alex successfully passed her final specialist board examination to be classified as a Diplomate of the American College of Specialist Surgeons and is registered as a specialist in small animal surgery in Victoria, early 2020. Alex has a large interest in teaching and is highly involved with Southpaws training of out rotating interns, surgical interns and residents.

Alex has particular interest in all things soft tissue including cancer surgery, large reconstructions and minimally invasive procedures while still enjoying the diverse orthopaedic case load that Southpaws provides.
