Biography:
Elizabeth Williams, DVM, graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 where she was inducted into the Phi Zeta Honor Society. While in vet school she had the opportunity to travel to China to learn basic acupuncture. She quickly realized she wanted to use this integrative approach to veterinary medicine. Immediately after her graduation she pursued a Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) from the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. To complement this training she also completed certification courses in Tui-Na (chiropractic massage) and Herbal Therapy. These therapies can be used in multi-modal approach to pain management as well as treating a variety of internal medicine and neurological conditions.
This new multi-modal/integrative approach to medicine led Dr. Elizabeth to seek out additional complementary training in physical rehabilitation and sports medicine one year later. Dr. Elizabeth completed her training and certification in canine physical rehabilitation (CCRT) from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Coral Springs, FL. Eventually she started focusing exclusively on rehabilitation and acupuncture in the treatment of her patients. Dr. Elizabeth works closely with local veterinarians and the veterinarians at Harmony Animal Hospital to provide these services on a referral basis.
